INFORMATION FOR SYMPOSIUM DELEGATES

National Research Council (100 Sussex Drive, Ottawa)

OISB in Collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada has organized the 2006 "Progress in Systems Biology" Symposium at the NRC site on 100 Sussex Drive, Ottawa. Our administrative partner at NRC is Ms. Lynda Boucher. For any NRC enquiries, please contact her at 613-990-0888 or Lynda.boucher@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca.

Parking is very limited at NRC because the Symposium is being held during regular working hours for NRC employees. We strongly encourage you to use alternative means of transportation to avoid parking hassles. There are usually taxis in front of the NRC building, and bus information can be found at OC Transpo.

Vendor Exhibitions

Financial support and participation from companies have made a significant contribution to the Symposium this year. We invite you to visit the vendor booths located in the Cafeteria and in the Library. This year we would like to welcome, Bruker Daltonics, Dionex Canada, ThermoElectron, Applied Biosystems/MDS Sciex, Zef Scientific, Bioinformatic Solutions, Waters Ltd., Invitrogen, and Bio-Rad.

Symposium Agenda

The agenda for the Symposium is now posted on the OISB website at oisb. Please check out the website for a list of this year’s speakers and their abstracts. Upon registration, you will receive a program booklet with the abstracts for the speaker presentations and poster displays.

Feedback Form

There will be a Symposium feedback form included in your program booklet. We would very much appreciate your feedback on the Symposium and welcome any suggestions to help us provide "excellent" meetings for the future. Purpose of the Symposium

The purpose of the "Progress in Systems Biology" Symposium is to provide researchers and students with an opportunity to learn more about the growing field of Systems Biology in Canada and the success of integrating genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and mathematical modelling. The Ottawa Institute of Systems Biology aims to integrate various scientific fields and expertise in “A Novel Approach to Understanding Diseases”, the motto of the Institute. Systems Biology is based on collaborative efforts and scientific networking; thus, we hope you find this Symposium worthwhile, informative, and an opportunity to make new contacts and networks!
