Histones and their post-translational modifications are very dynamic in living cells. This plasticity plays a central role in the regulation of nuclear activities such as gene expression and DNA replication. As a consequence, chromatin is of prime importance for normal development and is often ill-regulated in cancers. In this presentation, I will highlight some of our efforts in better understanding how chromatin composition and dynamics affect cellular processes in yeast and in mammalian cells. |
